Iscar is introducing a brand new unique milling system using tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has meaningful advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, lowered cutting forces resulting in elevated performance. The carbide inserts are screw-clamped on the perimeter of various milling cutter types, providing unmatched conditions also for heavy-duty applications with superb surface quality, saving additional finishing operations. Cutters are available for 90 degree shoulder milling and for facing with 45 degree lead angles.
Each carbide insert has 8 cutting edges, 4 for right-hand and 4 for left-hand cutting, improving the economy of use. The two, toward-center-slanted cutting edges furnish on one side strong and dependable clamping of insert in the tool body, and on the other side, the positive axial rake angle. The value of this positive axial rake design decreases the cutting forces due to softer cut and easier penetration into the metal, as well as changing force direction which is mandatory for use on up-to-date machining centers with pallet systems less rigid than on the classical transfer lines.
In common applications like in the automotive industry, the depth-of-cut is less than thirty thousandths of an inch empowering the use of all eight cutting edges of the Tangmill carbide inserts. Furthermore, in the automotive industry it is conventional to use a pair of cutters, one for right- and one for left-handed operations, which means that all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill inserts can be utilized.
New ISCAR UPGRADES for Fast Metal Removal
Recent advancements coming from the headquarters of Iscar, delivering the new Upgrade campaign, which guarantees that they are looking toward the future. The new Upgrade campaign, scheduled to be released at the end of year 2008, will offer revolutionary tools for milling, turning, hole making and multifunction operations, complementing the FMR (Fast Metal Removal) tool families with one aim in mind - to enhance productivity on the shop floor and to boost profits.
Iscar's focal point for this year, with no doubt, are the new coatings, new substrate combinations, new cutting edge geometries, new sizes, new tangential clamping mechanisms and new coolant nozzle capabilities. Iscar's future trends include new carbide insert grades for efficient and cost-effective machining, more cutting edges to each insert and upper-level tangential clamping apparatus which will significantly diminish the cutting tension. The inception of the AL-TEC, PVD coating chiefly for nodular cast iron, a-TECH, CVD coating chiefly for grey cast iron and the DO-TECH, dual CVD PVD coating for enhanced strength will transform the way manufacturers machines cast iron. Moreover, Iscar producing mini inserts is an alternative direction within the Upgrade campaign, referring to minimizing the sizes of the Tangmill carbide inserts into Minitang, in order to facilitate fine pitch configuration which will accelerate feed rates. In addition, the nominal size of the carbide inserts and their tangential position in the pockets make possible a much larger core diameter, in terms of tool configuration, when compared to standard radially oriented inserts.
Iscar Adds Their Most Recent Creations To A Extensive Line Of Prosperous Hole Producing Solutions
Iscar recently released several different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These new products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their experience Iscar has come up with new and innovative ways to increase productivity for the end user.
Iscar Recently Made Public Numerous Revolutionary Lines To Enlarge Their Family Of Milling Tools
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
The Most Recent In Carbide Endmill Architectures In A Long And Successful Family From Iscar
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can eliminate chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree endmills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the main source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
Numerous Progressions Have Enlarged Iscar's Line Of Indexable Endmills For Increased Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.
Revolutionary End Mills By Iscar Can Expand Productivity While Lowering Costs
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can banish chatter problems in numerous milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree end mills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
